Standard 300cc Catalyst for Porsche 993 (Gillet Type)
Choose our standard 300cc catalytic converter, specially designed for your Porsche 993 equipped with an original Gillet type catalytic converter. This direct replacement ensures perfect compatibility with the original interfaces, guaranteeing installation without modification.
How to identify your catalyst?
- The Gillet type (compatible with this product) is distinguished by round inlet tubes and inlet flanges at a 90° angle to the catalyst.
- The Bischoff type (the most common) has oval inlet tubes and inlet flanges at a 45° angle.
Performance and Options
This 300cc catalytic converter faithfully replicates the characteristics of your original part, preserving the flow and sound of your 993 without gaining power. For Gillet-type 993s, we also offer:
- A 100cc catalyzed sports version (Ref: SCA 993 2 2 G)
- A decatalytic bypass version (Ref: SCA 993 2 3 G)
These same variants are also available for Bischoff type catalysts.
Easy and Optimized Installation
Designed to fit in place, between the manifolds and rear mufflers. Easy access to the Lambda sensor simplifies disassembly. A lift is recommended. Plan to loosen the fasteners and, if necessary, replace the original Lambda sensor. The average installation time is estimated at 2 hours and the nuts should always be tightened gradually.
For optimal assembly, a complete kit is included: gaskets, stainless steel screws (screws, lock nuts) and high temperature copper grease.
Detailed description
Detailed description
This standard 300cc catalyst fits on:
> All 993s with the original Gillet type catalyst
There are two types of catalysts originally fitted to the 993. The Bischoff type is the most common, it has oval inlet tubes and its two inlet flanges are at a 45° angle to the catalyst. The other type, the Gillet, has round inlet tubes and the two inlet flanges are at a 90° angle to the catalyst.
This exhaust is equipped with standard 300cc metal catalysts. This allows you to replace the original catalyst without changing the flow or sound. There is no power gain compared to a stock 993.
We also have in our range for Gillet type catalysts:
> A 100cc sports catalyzed version - (Reference: SCA 993 2 2 G)
> A decatalytic bypass version - (Reference: SCA 993 2 3 G)
We also have all these variants for the original Bischoff catalysts.
Our exhausts all have the original interfaces, meaning that their inlets, outlets and dimensions are consistent with the original part. They can therefore be fitted in place of the original part without any modification.
The catalyst is mounted under the car between the manifolds and the mufflers in the rear fenders. To remove the original catalyst, it is advisable to disconnect the Lambda sensor located in the center of the catalyst, as it is easily accessible. The 3 screws on each side of the inlet flanges are often difficult to remove, so plan to loosen them in advance. Using a lift is essential. Since the recovery of the original Lambda sensor is never guaranteed, plan to replace them or be able to buy a new one if necessary.
The average installation time, including removal of the original exhaust, for this exhaust is 2 hours. Installation time may be faster if the exhaust to be removed is in good condition, but it may be longer if the opposite is the case.
Tightening the nuts should always be done gradually across all the nuts.
To ensure that all our exhausts are fitted in the best possible conditions, we include in the price of this exhaust a fitting kit with gaskets, stainless steel screws, all-stainless steel lock nuts and high-temperature copper grease.
