Our advice when replacing the catalytic converter: change the sensor. The question is not so much whether it can be removed from the original converter, but rather that the Scart converter you are installing has a very long life - its welds are guaranteed 10 years (a warranty needs an end date), and it will most likely stay on the car for 20 or 30 years. The sensor mounted on it should therefore last as long as possible - which will not be the case with a reused original sensor.

There is only one sensor on the Porsche 993. atmospheric.
When replacing the catalytic converter, we recommend replacing the sensor. The question is not so much whether the sensor can be removed from the original catalytic converter or not. But rather to consider that the Scart catalytic converter you are going to install has a very long lifespan. Its welds are guaranteed for 10 years, because we need to set a term for the warranty. It is very likely that it will remain on the car for 20 or 30 years. Therefore, the Lambda sensor mounted on the catalytic converter must have the longest possible lifespan. This will not be the case if the original sensor is reused.
