PSE Cut-off Cancellation Kit - Porsche 911 (997 Turbo / 997-2 / 997-2 Turbo / 997)
Fits 4 generations
Couldn't load pickup availability
Fits: Porsche 996, 997, 997 Turbo, 997-2, 997-2 Turbo, and the Boxsters of those generations.
This kit plugs into the original Porsche harness and removes the automatic valve cut-out between 45 and 75 km/h, while keeping the PSE button in the centre console.
A short history of this cut-out
To homologate an exhaust, manufacturers must run a dynamic test between 50 and 70 km/h. So Porsche introduced this valve cut-out between 45 and 75 km/h... without realising 3 things:
- The cut-out was not necessary to meet the noise standards - which are still met without it
- Other manufacturers, subject to the same laws, did not apply it
- It is punitive for the driver: that is precisely the speed where you enjoy your car's sound the most
All of this is so true that Porsches no longer have this cut-out from the 981 and 991-1 onwards... even though the regulations have not changed.

Description détaillée
This kit plugs into the original Porsche wiring harness and allows you to remove the automatic valve cut-off between 45 and 75 km/h while retaining the PSE button on the center console.
This cut exists at Porsche on the 996, 997-1, 997-2 as well as on the Boxster of these same generations.
A little history: To approve an exhaust, manufacturers must carry out a dynamic test between 50 and 70 km/h. So Porsche put this valve cut-off between 45 and 75 km/h but without taking into account 3 things;
> This cut was not necessary to comply with sound standards which are still ok without this cut.
> Other manufacturers (who have the same laws) have not applied it.
> It's punitive for drivers because it's the speed at which you get the most out of your car's sound.
All this is so true that Porsches no longer have this cut-off starting with the 981 and 991-1 even though the regulations have not changed.
