Owner of a 996 4S cabriolet fitted with the standard exhaust, hence voiceless, I wanted to give life back to the flat6. With the desire to rediscover the sounds of air-cooled engines. Not easy... on Martin's advice I opted for an Ultima Recital. Easy fitting, despite the corrosion, and from the very first turns of the wheels, I knew I had made the right choice. I wanted a melody without necessarily flirting with the red zone... and that's a win. In the spirit of convertibles, when driving smoothly and from the lowest revs, the sound becomes deep, raspy, cavernous to perfection... enveloping! It also crackles when you lift off the pedal, and the characteristic metallic sound is magnified... A delight, a real beautiful music that turns into a roar with every hard press of the throttle. The harmonics change tone and are just as thrilling. More sporty, though. So I enjoy driving with a light foot but a joyful air. It is now a great pleasure that justifies the investment. Go for it!! At the beginning of December 2021 I bought a pair of Scart Ultima Recital silencers + a BMC sport air filter, benefiting from the 15% Black Friday discount offered by Scart on their site. In total, a discount of 351 euros including tax, which is not negligible. Living in Montpellier, I decided to have them installed this week by the garage that looks after my vehicle, Porsche ALMERAS, whom I salute in passing for their passion, their professionalism and their flawless customer relations. They did an excellent fitting job because my 2003 996 4S Tiptronic has found its baritone voice that Porsche Stuttgart had denied it... it truly breathes at last and seems grateful to me for having given life back to its 320 completely voiceless horsepower. It is a real delight to hear it let out a real lion's cry, raspy and powerful, on waking, and then to hear its deep octave climbs after the first turns of the wheels is sublime! The sound is particularly deep and raspy on the Tiptronic version and therefore perhaps less angry than on a manual gearbox and/or on an engine of smaller displacement (996 3.4L). So it depends on what you are looking for, for my part it was deep sounds faithful to the flat 6 but also discretion when coming back into my neighborhood. So thank you to Scart Exhaust for creating exhausts of such quality and beauty, in my opinion they are far above what the competition can offer, having done multiple searches and watched dozens of videos on the subject. I won't listen to Nostalgie FM much anymore, but rather radio recital flat 6, all windows open even in winter. It's a fine investment that you won't regret, go for it! Read more

The sound is magical, raspy and angry and far beyond what I had been able to hear. It is very difficult to reproduce the reality of the sound in audio, but believe me it's worth the trip. On the intake, a BMC cartridge filter and relocation of the resonator. Today I am ordering the Scart stainless steel sport manifold, again to go all the way. There it is, done! Break and fitting today at Scart of an Ultima Recital for 996. I had taken my day off to have my Christmas present fitted directly in Goussainville. I didn't think I'd buy them so soon after the recent acquisition of my "frog", but since I was sure I would do it sooner or later, I took advantage of the 15% Black Friday discount and Mr. Scart's good advice. Indeed, I had set out for a valved exhaust, but he explained to me that given my goals and my car (manual gearbox), Ultima Recital silencers could suit (significant and deep sound when turning the key; very discreet sound at a steady speed and very playful sound under acceleration). It's all to his credit because it makes a difference of about 1000 euros (fitting included) in my favor, which is not negligible, not to mention a fitting time of 2 h versus a full day. In addition, he explained to me that I had 3 months to test them and come back for valves if it didn't suit me... that he would take them back and I would only have to pay the difference. Royal... and I'm taking no risk! Sold! So I arrived before the lunch break, as agreed, to let the exhaust cool down. Mr. Scart welcomed me right away and gave me a tour of his workshop, explaining the different stages of making his parts. It had been a long time since I had set foot in that kind of workshop, the smells and the machines brought back old memories.... Nice! Everything is made on site and each technician makes the exhausts from A to Z (even if it comes at a certain price, it's nice to buy French!). Mine were ready, all shiny! I was able to settle in the "warm-room" while waiting for the work and I took the opportunity to read old articles about Martin Scart, just to soak up the character ;) and to see... and touch many parts: valved systems, tips, silencers, internal views of catalytic converters.... Cool, being more of an electrician than a mechanic, I learned things! As planned, the car was almost ready at 2:30 pm: the fitter came to get me to ask what I thought of the tip adjustments and we adjusted their positions together. He even polished them (on the house) and they look new again. Very kind, by the way... and meticulous, everything I like in this kind of job. And then, the long-awaited magic moment... the 1st turn of the key...... And there you think, that changes everything!!! We went to test them by going around the block, with Mr. Scart at the wheel, and there you think wow, it really delivers! Doc Jekyll and Mr Hyde ;) and that's what I was looking for: well-behaved at a steady speed and wicked under acceleration... well thought out Mr. Scart! Back at the workshop, a new test, stationary at a steady speed and then accelerating up to 5000 rpm, and there, thanks to the rise in temperature, the sound is already louder. According to the designer, a break-in period of 500 km is needed for them to give their final sound.... What is that going to be like. Anyway, I left at 3 pm, once again as planned, with a grin on my face, ears wide open and a nervous right foot: the sound is definitely present but not too much, and you finally hear it even with the windows closed. The only hitch of the day, the traffic jams of the moment......... almost 2h30 of traffic jams, with above all the frustration of dragging along in 1st/2nd and not hearing enough of the flat6's new roars. Never mind, that will be for later, anyway with radio recital the traffic jams are shorter! In conclusion, as I've often read, it's no longer the same car: before I had a mellow GT (I forgot to say it's a 3.6 C4), now I feel like I have a race car! There was no choice in the matter, it had to be a SCART (French and quality). I took it out for a test drive. The sound is surprising, it sounds like a real sports car. Now you know!

15 days ago I had an Ultima Recital fitted on my Porsche 996, hellish music, a very professional team and also very nice, on a scale of 5 to 10 I would give a 10, thanks to the Scart team.

Let's be clear, you change the exhaust on your Porsche to please yourself.

Well, the pleasure starts as early as the fitting.

A nice team that obviously loves its work and its product. Very serious, full of small attentions and explanations: systematic replacement with stainless hardware, heat-shielded pipes, etc.

On top of that, an explanatory walk around the car with the boss, and a pass with the diagnostic tool to confirm that everything was fine.

At a steady 140, calm in the car, but at the slightest pressure on the accelerator... Rhââ Lovely.

The best was the next day, sun, 30 degrees and I put the top down......

And there, it became a foretaste of Paradise.

Hello, a little trip to Goussainville last week to fit an exhaust worthy of the name on my 996 4S. Very friendly welcome, very clear explanations from the technician and the metamorphosis begins. Out with the original silencers, which had already stood the test of time, and fitting of Ultima Recital silencers. While I was at it, I also opted for a BMC air filter. Turn of the key, an imposing and slightly muffled sound rises. Test drive, the sound is nicely raspy at low revs and climbs into the high notes on acceleration... superb. Then back home, in the east, after 350 km (by the way I faced a snowstorm... in a Porsche, that's not ideal, but I got back without incident in the end). The sound has really changed; as Guillaume told me, a little break-in is needed. Now, a roar at startup, then a very well-worked sound, nicely raspy and powerful as I wanted, and beautiful vocalizations as the revs climb. It's not the same car at all, the sterile side has disappeared. Finally a real Porsche sound. I was also able to test it on the motorway... well, the noise isn't too present at steady speed and you can without hesitation consider a long trip. So I'm totally delighted, my car can now be furious when I ask it to, but also knows how to be discreet when circumstances require. A very good investment, it's really worth the trip. Even with valves closed the sound is really nice and the car is completely transformed once the valves are opened, what a delight. It feels like driving a new car. I found the sound of my Flat 6 (996 C4 Cab, 2003) extremely bland, not to say non-existent!

After some research on the Internet, you quickly come down to 2 players: French or German - oh, isn't that the nationality of my beloved? The Stuttgart side appealed to me, but in case of a problem...

And then, after a few emails and phone calls (thanks to Guillaume for his patience), well, you can feel the enthusiasts, the good advice, no pushy selling but rather advised / guided selling! Take the time to listen, go on the site, on the FB... take your time (I wouldn't have had that with the Germans, who are much more direct). I also particularly loved: "When you listen to it, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner" - well, pardon the expression, "Damn it", he was 50000% right.

For the choice, follow the advice and listen! Personally, and here it really is personal (my ears): the Classic and the Valve are too high-pitched / metallic whereas the Ultima Récital, after several listens on different Flat 6s, well, for me it was the TOP of the TOP of the TOP. Because of budget (many modifications under way), I did not change my cats, which will very probably be replaced by 300cc ones (the Pro's advice) in 2016. However, Guillaume advised me to change the air filter for the sake of musicality - OK.

At the fitting, in early February, after a lap around the block (I hadn't found the shop, half hidden at the end of a street), we were given a super welcome with a little coffee, a tour of the restaurant, er, no, the shop, cleaner than a restaurant! The fitter, a GEM! He explains everything, gives cleaning tips... A gem, I tell you. He also confirms that changing the air filter brings a nice little extra. But, big surprise on my beauty which unfortunately knocked me out: my rear tyres were dead even though they were only a year old and had been checked not long before! I fell apart and spent my time looking for THE solution so I could enjoy my potential new sound!

The test drive with Guillaume and the drive home (alone) were therefore good but I wasn't really there - and for good reason, the fear of "crashing".

On the other hand, after fitting my 4 new tyres and covering about a thousand kilometres, there, phew, a radical change of sound, a pure marvel, and I confirm: why not have done it sooner! Perhaps because I didn't know :)

In use, at the very beginning, I was afraid because I found there were vibrations and a "droning" (a "heavy" sound that feels a bit odd in my ears) in the car and that it might "wear me out" on long journeys but, after a few hundred kilometres, as Guillaume had said, the sound changes a little and everything falls into place. In town, gently easing the throttle, you get a sound that is more present than before but barely audible. At a steady speed, the "droning" is sometimes audible but really light and not bothersome. Under acceleration, excuse me, "Damn"... pure happiness!

The most impressive: in the Rocquencourt tunnel. A tiny little "run" with a 997 ==> Phew, you couldn't hear it any more!

The catch: fuel consumption goes through the roof!!! Indeed, I downshift much more than before and accelerate much harder than before because that sound, phew, is a real delight! Catch 2: since you accelerate more, people hear you more and at every toll booth everybody looks at you and I don't like that much, but it's hard to do otherwise. Catch 3: driving with the window open in winter (and sometimes in the rain) to enjoy the sound even more! Yes yes, we did it :)

If you hesitate, rack your brains over "THE" right selection of "your right" product and GO FOR IT! It's impossible to regret it! I get home late on Sunday evenings, but by gently easing the throttle (it's very very hard but no choice), I have no problem. On the other hand, on a cold start, er, well, how shall I put it, I wake everyone up and I've already been told (or given to understand), but with a big smile: "I heard you leave very early this morning!".

Finally, I'm 46 and I had 997 Adaptive Sport Seats installed in my 996 (it was difficult, it took a lot of work but Hugues managed it - thanks to him) and my preference goes to the seats and then the silencers; my 24-year-old nephew, for his part, unreservedly prefers the sound of the silencers and then the seats! Phew, and what about his back, eh, does he think about that?! :)

PS 1: I was thinking of changing my hi-fi system, well, thanks SCART, I saved myself that modification :) My new sound system suits me more than perfectly. PS 2: Can't wait for the convertible side so I can enjoy it even more!

I've just sold my carrera S 997 to buy a GT3 3.6L and what I'll miss most, is the magnificent sound of its SCART Ultima Recital exhaust. In May 2014 I bought a Porsche 996 4S with a defective Pse. According to Porsche the exhaust needed replacing and the estimate was totally unreasonable.... Appointment made with Martin Scart to fit a pair of SCART silencers with valves, 4 hours of hard labour due to the rust...which didn't put off such a professional and experienced man, really nice guy too!!! see the excellent article which ("literally") describes him as "the Porsche whisperer". And its not a Hollywood production but a superb French production the end product being a work of art made of stainless steel!! and what can I say about the all important issue - the sound, it's good... it's magnificent... what a pleasure it is to drive!!!! A big thank you to Martin Scart for his work and for fitting my exhaust. I had discovered the Ultima Recital on a 996 4S Tiptronic with which I was 100% satisfied and I highly recommend it. This time as the happy owner of a 996 Turbo Cab with a manual gearbox, it needed a voice and it was with complete confidence that I turned to Martin and his team. So I chose an exhaust without valves, with a dyno session for engine optimisation and a change of air filters and tips. The result: magical, killer, grandiose, fantastic etc... Nothing to complain about on the sound, it's all I wanted... Those who are worried can rest assured... The noise is perfectly acceptable for the neighbours, your wife or girlfriend and for yourself. A lot is said on the internet but now that I've taken the plunge I can speak with full knowledge of the facts: - in gentle driving you just need to manage your gear and your accelerator pedal well and that's it, your Porsche will be very discreet - but if you decide to put the power down and be wild and sporty with your mount then... all you can do is take a handkerchief to wipe away a tear, the sound gives you so much emotion and such a thrill. At last your Turbo sings, it's raspy and powerful with great depth and superb intensity, all without being unpleasant and without excessive resonance in the car. You can feel all the work done to achieve this result. Real craftsman's work, perfectionist, demanding and passionate. Thanks again to Martin and his team for the quality of the work.

By pure chance, I came across Martin SCART's website which apart from giving me hope informed me that a new workshop had opened just off the Marseille ringroad. Appointment booked, I introduced the "beast" and the man religiously set about presenting his range. Products made from French stainless steel, hand made and fitted by his fair hand!!!!! I'd initially planned on simply having a look but in the end I left him with my toy, which 24 hours later left the workshop with a pair of Ultima Recital silencers, handmade dual tail-pipes, new air fiter and a turn on the power bench which showed that in addition to a sound which would make an Italian blush there was a substantial increase in hp and torque!!! But what a disappointment on the sound front, totally sanitised, ordinary. Of course I landed on the RSTUBE videos. I wanted to buy and have it fitted in my city of Tours. One phone call to Martin later, and on 9 April I was heading back to Tours on the A10 with 2 ULTIMA Recital "on my backside". I was right to make the trip. I was able to watch the fitting by pros, chat with the boss, very friendly and not stingy with explanations, and take the demo drive to understand the SCART sound! It's as if I had a new car, you're finally in a sports car. The result is masterful: a low little crack at start-up, it looks great, smooth and raspy at steady revs, and downright racing as soon as the right foot gets a bit heavier. It's really astonishing to get such a result, not to mention the beauty of the stainless steel parts made on the bench! Best wishes to this fine French company! Read more
