Fits: all Porsche Boxster 986 2.7L and 3.2L.

This version is fitted with 200-cell sport metallic catalytic converters: they replace the original converters with better flow and more sound, with a 10 hp gain on a stock 986.

Fitting

  • Strictly original interfaces (inlets, outlets, dimensions): direct replacement, no modification
  • Mount under the car, between the manifolds and the connecting pipes to the rear muffler
  • Before removal, unplug the Lambda sensors at the connectors and remove them once the converters are off. Reusing them is not straightforward: be ready to replace them
  • It is often necessary to cut the sleeves at the converter outlets with a grinder; plan small open-end spanners, the inlet flanges (manifold junction) sit at the rear crossmember, hard to reach
  • Average fitting time: 3 hours including removal
  • A lift is essential; tighten all nuts progressively
  • Fitting kit included: gaskets, stainless bolts, stainless lock nuts, high-temperature copper grease

  • Standard 400-cell catalytic version - Reference: SCA 986 3,2 2 1

Description détaillée

These 200cc sports catalysts fit:
> All 986 2.7L & 3.2L

This version is equipped with 200cc metal sport catalysts. They replace the original catalysts, providing better flow and a better sound. The power gain is 10hp over a stock 986.

We also have in our range:
> A standard catalyzed version at 400cc - (Reference: SCA 986 3.2 2 1)

Our exhausts all have the original interfaces, meaning that their inlets, outlets and dimensions are consistent with the original part. They can therefore be fitted in place of the original part without any modification.

These catalysts are mounted under the car between the manifolds and the connecting pipes to the rear muffler. To remove the original catalysts, it is advisable to disconnect the Lambda sensors at the inlets and remove them once the catalysts have been removed. It is also often necessary to cut the sleeves at the catalyst outlet using a grinder. Provide small open-end wrenches because the catalyst inlet flanges (junction with the manifolds) are at the rear crossmember, which makes access more difficult.

The average installation time, including removal of the original exhaust, for this exhaust is 3 hours. Installation time may be faster if the exhaust to be removed is in good condition, but it may be longer if it is not.

Using a lift is essential. Recovering the original Lambda sensors is not easy, so plan to replace them or be able to purchase new ones if necessary.

Tightening the nuts should always be done gradually across all the nuts.

To ensure that all our exhausts are fitted in the best possible conditions, we include in the price of this exhaust a fitting kit with gaskets, stainless steel screws, all-stainless steel lock nuts and high-temperature copper grease.
