By-pass Catalytic converter with Muffler - Porsche 968
Couldn't load pickup availability
Fits: all Porsche 968.
This version has no catalytic converter: it is a straight pipe with a muffler, replacing the original converter with better flow and more sound. Power gain: 9 hp on a stock 968. The gain is 5 hp lower than our 200-cell sport converter: with a freer flow, back-pressure drops.
Fitting
- Strictly original interfaces (inlets, outlets, dimensions): direct replacement, no modification
- Mounts under the car, between the manifolds and the rear muffler
- Average fitting time: 1.5 hours including removal (quicker if the old exhaust is in good condition)
- A lift is essential
- Reusing the original Lambda sensor is not straightforward: be ready to replace it
- Tighten all nuts progressively
- Fitting kit included: gaskets, stainless bolts, stainless lock nuts, high-temperature copper grease

This bypass catalyst is mounted on:
> All 968
This version is not equipped with a catalyst, it is a direct tube with muffler. It therefore allows to replace the original catalyst by providing a better flow and more sound. The power gain is 9 hp on a stock 968. The gain is 5 hp lower than our 200cc sport catalyst because the flow is freer, the back pressure decreases.
We also have in our range:
> A standard catalyzed version at 400cc - (Reference: SCA 968 2 1)
> A 200cc sports catalyzed version - (Reference: SCA 968 2 2) Best seller
Our exhausts all have the original interfaces, meaning that their inlets, outlets and dimensions are consistent with the original part. They can therefore be fitted in place of the original part without any modification.
This catalyst is mounted under the car between the manifolds and the rear muffler.
The average installation time, including removal of the original exhaust, for this exhaust is 1.5 hours. Installation time may be faster if the exhaust to be removed is in good condition, but it may be longer if the opposite is true.
Using a lift is essential. Recovering the original lambda sensor is not easy; plan to replace it or purchase a new one if necessary.
Tightening the nuts should always be done gradually across all the nuts.
To ensure that all our exhausts are fitted in the best possible conditions, we include in the price of this exhaust a fitting kit with gaskets, stainless steel screws, all-stainless steel lock nuts and high-temperature copper grease.
