This exhaust is your magic wand! Wave it and the sound of your 2nd gen 997 will be transformed from virtual silence, to one of the most beautiful sounds in the history of Porsche. It has taken us more than twenty prototypes to achieve this result, and it has been patented. This exhaust replaces the central rear muffler and fits onto the mufflers in the fenders. With the valves closed, the sound is present yet never bothersome. With the valves open the sound is ample and powerful. This reference is only for the 3.8L 997-2 that is already fitted with a PSE. The valves are operated by a switch. Unlike the OEM exhaust with valves, our system does not cut out between 45 and 75 kms/h. If you marry them up with our 200 cell sport cats, you'll be close to having the sound of a racing car. All the accessories are included (wiring harness and air kit). If you read some of the feedback from Porschists who have already fitted this version, you will have a better idea of the sound it gives. Our exhausts all fit onto the original interfaces. By this we mean their entry, their outlet and their size are the same as those of the original part.
This exhaust replaces the rear transverse muffler and should take around 8 hours to fit including the time taken to remove the original exhaust. You will need to remove the rear bumper and you will need to use a car hoist. The original valves must be removed and the disc supplied with the exhaust will need to be welded. Ensure that the mechanic is able to weld stainless steel. For the connection to the tail-pipes, the pipes on the original mufflers will need to be cut. This exhaust is not easy to fit so the fitting must be carried out by a professional Porsche specialist. Ideally one of our recommended garages.
To ensure that our exhausts are fitted under the best conditions a mounting kit containing: clamps, gaskets, stainless steel bolts stainless steel lock nuts and high temperature copper grease the copper grease is included with your exhaust. We recommend that you use the grease on the bolt threads and in the sleeves. The sleeves for fitting the exhaust to the rear mufflers, are not included as in 90% of cases you can reuse the original ones.

I had an X-pipe, connection box and a Sport air filter fitted last Friday (23rd) and the result is all that I'd hoped for. I wanted to keep the original PSE but improve on it and get rid of the problem of it cutting out. And it makes the difference - I now have a Porsche. If I hadn't had the PSE I wouldn't have thought twice about fitting a complete Scart line .... that'll be for next time! Christophe, who fitted the X and connected up the box, does a really professional job - you have nothing to fear either for your car or for its interior. He's a great guy too! Thanks. Cyrille will give you all the info you need by mail, as he did for me. If you're interested he'll give you a guided tour of the workshop too. Just to let you know how I got on since having a new voicebox fitted at the SCART workshop. Like many, I'm very disappointed by the Porsche PSE for the 997.2. I already knew about SCART exhausts (I had an Ultima Recital on a 3.6L 996) so naturally I turned to the SCART team for a SCART with valves. The contact was very friendly and then the guided tour of the workshop confirms that you're amongst professionals who are passionate about the work they do and doing it well. Being able to watch the exhaust being fitted with my own eyes with precious tips along the way was an additional bonus!!! And the result .... a massive grin all the way home !!!! It's a huge thrill, a gentle melody, round, more or less boisterous depending on whether the valves are open or closed. I took the option of keeping the original switch on the dashboard - brilliant. Just one last thing - accelerating out of the toll station, pdk mode, in manual, SCART valves open .... devilish !!!! THANK YOU to the whole SCART team - keep up the good work.

MKII 997 C4S - exhaust with valves + filter. The welcome and intervention by the team were impecable. The work to connect the valves to the original PSE switch was carried out with great care. It's a great piece of acoustic workmanship and beautifully made. The best of both worlds. Valves closed, the result is subtle with a slightly rounder sound than the original. Valves open at low revs it's a delight, put your foot down and it's bewitching, then when you go through a tunnel ... what can I say ... Wow!! I was worried about having an exhaust that was too noisy, but it isn't. This exhaust does what the original just doesn't do and it's very versatile depending on how and where you drive. Well done!!!

An exhaust with valves with a guttural sound in replacement for a PSE. The pleasure of driving has been multiplied several times thanks to its deep, round sound. Nobody can be bothered by the sound when the valves are closed, and then when the valves are open the sound is exceptional. To any of you out there that are still hesitating, hesitate no longer!
